THE WHY
Scotland’s Yard is a vision to bring care close to home. With the funds from this tournament we are purchasing a Positron Emission Tomography Machine (PET/CT) that will cost $7,000,000. We are already half way there.
Demand for PET/CT scans for diagnosis and treatment continues to grow in our communities, and despite this, none exist in Waterloo-Wellington. Investing in a PET/CT will enable patients to receive care close to home, versus travelling to Hamilton or Mississauga, which adds further stress both on patients and their caregivers, as well as the cancer health network.
Thank you!
After watching our best friend’s daughter, Scottie, fight cancer with a daughter of our own the same age, we knew we had to do something to help. We were given the opportunity to help raise money to improve children’s cancer care in our community with Scotland’s Yard.
We called on some NHL players as well as NHL alumni, OHL players, women’s players and Olympic gold medal hockey players to join us and the results were incredible! The past two years of Scotland’s Yard RoadHockey Classic have been epic!
- 20 Professional Hockey Players
- Over 100 Volunteers
- 1500+ players, families & spectators
- Over $355,000 raised

We are so excited to see what we can do together this year, and we hope you will join us!

WHAT IS SCOTLAND'S YARD?
Scotland’s Yard is a community initiative focused on augmenting care closer to home for children with cancer and other serious illnesses. Inspired by Scotland, a young cancer survivor, a group of dedicated friends and neighbours are working to raise $50 million in support of Grand River Hospital projects that will help children, and their families, get more care locally.
